About the Role
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Director to develop strategic goals, program objectives, and policies for the study abroad program.
Assist in the planning and execution of study abroad programs, including program design, itinerary development, logistics coordination, and risk management.
Support the recruitment and selection process for study abroad participants, including reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and providing program recommendations.
Coordinate pre-departure orientation sessions for participants, covering topics such as cultural adaptation, health and safety, academic expectations, and travel logistics.
Provide ongoing support and guidance to students throughout their study abroad experiences, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
Liaise with international partner institutions, vendors, and service providers to ensure seamless program logistics, including accommodation, transportation, and cultural activities.
Assist in the development and management of program budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure fiscal responsibility in program operations.
Collaborate with academic departments and faculty to integrate study abroad experiences into the curriculum, ensuring appropriate credit transfer and academic support for participants.
Conduct program evaluations and assessments to measure program impact and effectiveness, collecting and analyzing data to inform program improvements.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for study abroad participants, promoting intercultural understanding and facilitating meaningful cross-cultural experiences.
Assist in the development and implementation of marketing and recruitment strategies to attract a diverse pool of applicants for study abroad programs.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulations related to study abroad programs, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and guidelines.
Collaborate with the communications and marketing team to promote the program, including creating content for promotional materials, website updates, and social media channels.
Represent the program at information sessions, campus events, and recruitment fairs to promote study abroad opportunities and engage with prospective participants.
Collaborate with the program team to support program alumni engagement, including organizing events, facilitating networking opportunities, and collecting testimonials.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in international education, higher education administration, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred.
Proven experience in study abroad program administration, preferably in a higher education setting.
Strong knowledge of study abroad program design, logistics coordination, and risk management.
Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and manage multiple programs simultaneously.
Exceptional interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse populations, including students, faculty, staff, and international partners.
Knowledge of student services and support systems, including advising, crisis management, and risk assessment in a study abroad context.
Familiarity with international travel logistics, visa processes, and health and safety considerations for study abroad participants.
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to anticipate challenges and find creative solutions.
Proficiency in using technology and software applications relevant to program management, such as databases, student information systems, and collaboration tools.
