About the Role
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive philanthropic strategy aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and strategic goals.
Provide strategic leadership and vision to the philanthropy team, ensuring the successful execution of fundraising initiatives and campaigns.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with major donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, and funding organizations to secure financial support.
Develop and maintain a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals and major donors, managing relationships and soliciting major gifts.
Identify and pursue new funding opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, partnerships, and other philanthropic initiatives.
Collaborate with the board of directors, senior leadership, and other stakeholders to establish fundraising goals, targets, and benchmarks.
Lead and inspire the philanthropy team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to achieve fundraising objectives.
Oversee the planning and execution of fundraising events, galas, and donor cultivation activities to engage and steward donors.
Develop and manage an effective donor stewardship and recognition program to ensure ongoing engagement and retention of donors.
Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to develop impactful messaging and materials to effectively communicate the organization's mission and fundraising needs.
Develop and present regular reports to the board of directors and senior leadership on fundraising progress, goals, and outcomes.
Stay informed about philanthropic trends, best practices, and legal and ethical standards to ensure compliance and effectiveness in fundraising efforts.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of fundraising activities, making data-driven decisions and adjustments as needed.
Work closely with the finance team to establish and monitor fundraising budgets and financial projections.
Represent the organization at external events, conferences, and community gatherings to enhance visibility and build relationships with potential donors and partners.
Build strategic partnerships and collaborations with other organizations and stakeholders to leverage resources and expand fundraising opportunities.
Foster a culture of philanthropy within the organization, promoting a donor-centric approach and engaging staff and volunteers in fundraising activities.
Stay abreast of the organization's programs, impact, and strategic priorities to effectively articulate funding needs and opportunities to donors.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in handling donor information and financial transactions.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, philanthropy, business, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred.
Proven executive-level experience in philanthropy, fundraising, or development, preferably in a nonprofit organization.
Demonstrated success in leading and managing comprehensive philanthropic programs, including major gifts, grants, and campaigns.
Strong understanding of philanthropic principles, fundraising strategies, and donor engagement.
Excellent leadership and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff, board members, and donors.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and nurture relationships with donors and stakeholders.
Strong business acumen and financial literacy, with the ability to develop and manage budgets and financial projections.
Demonstrated success in soliciting and securing major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
Experience in planning and executing successful fundraising events and donor cultivation activities.
Knowledge of fundraising software, donor databases, and technology tools to enhance fundraising effectiveness.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data, trends, and metrics to drive fundraising strategies
